On Wednesday’s from 10.00am – 2.00pm the Samoa Culture Centre offers visitors the opportunity to experience authentic entertainment, food and demonstrations of cultural skills & practises

Every visitor to Samoa should experience the culture and a fia fia (traditional Samoan feast) which includes oka (marinated fish in coconut cream), pork suckling, taro and fa’ausi desert (taro mashed, marinated with caramel & cooked with cream) straight out of the umu

There is dancing, singing and authentic ceremonial enactments such as the Ifoga, a ceremony of reconciliation usually performed in a murder case to avoid further bloodshed and to bring about true reconciliation

There are demonstrations of canoe and fale building, weaving & siapo making and visitors are welcome and encouraged to get involved in the experience

Visitors come away after a fine traditional meal & entertainment, with an understanding of the unique cultural practises of the island nation of Samoa
